Original Title: Når dyrene drømmer (Denmark)
Tagline: The truth is known to all but one
Synopsis: “16-year old Marie lives on a small island with her seriously ill mother and her father, who takes care of the family. But suddenly mysterious deaths happen and Marie can feel something strange happening to her body.” source
Werewolves (in books and movies) often function as allegories. My favorites explore adolescence, sexuality, and self-awareness. In WHEN ANIMALS DREAM, Marie discovers a dark secret about her herself and by extension her family — something her father insists must be suppressed and kept hidden from the world… even though everyone else seems to know already. Much like Dawn in TEETH, Marie comes to realize she doesn’t have to be afraid of or ashamed of her true self, and those who truly love her will accept her as she is, claws ‘n all.

What’s your favorite werewolf film?
I haven’t heard of this film and it sounds great.
I’ve heard of this one, and have seen it recommended. I really need to watch it now that it has your stamp of approval. 🙂

So long as you don’t mind reading subtitles (I never watch with dubs; the voice actors tend to over-act in my experience), I think you’d both enjoy it.
I prefer watching foreign movies with subtitles too. Dubbed movies drive me crazy. I always have the closed captioning on with everything I watch so I’m used to it. Guess I love reading everything, even TV. lol
