Tagline: If only they knew she had the power.
Synopsis: “Carrie White, a shy, friendless teenage girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.” source
I took today’s prompt to mean horror films in which childhood or growing up is the primary or dominant theme. Not horror films I watched during childhood.
CARRIE is really relatable for anyone who, growing up, never really felt like they belonged. Bonus points for a toxic mother. The awkwardness of changing bodies. The clash between adolescence and young adulthood. The nightmare that is the girls locker room.

What’s your favorite childhood-themed horror film?
Definitely a good film about growing up, dealing with bullying (boy, did she ever!)…yeah, and that mother. Wow. Great choice! This movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. That ending gave me nightmares!
