Rating: 7 of 10

How far would you go to make your dreams come true? This timeless question is the heart of STARRY EYES. The answer, from the depths of its dark soul, is terrifying.

Synopsis: “A hopeful young starlet uncovers the ominous origins of the Hollywood elite and enters into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame and fortune.” (source)

Watching the ups and downs of an aspiring actress isn’t something I usually care too much about. But the gorgeous poster and its teasing tagline intrigued me, so I gave it a go, and I was blown away. Alex Essoe made Sarah impossible to forget. I was embarrassed, scared, envious, uncomfortable — all on Sarah’s behalf. Her insecurity and vulnerability were rivaled only by her ambition. Her internal transformation was frightening; the external metamorphosis was truly horrific.

Highly recommended if you enjoyed movies like HONEYMOON, CONTRACTED or TEETH.
